Asian American Identity Exploration

This page provides resources that relate to the Asian and Asian American experience through various mediums. You can explore what Asian public figures are doing in entertainment or social media platforms. The resources are focused on North American Asians but I have included some other Asian creators. I wanted to provide some successful public figures who are ethnically Asian to those who might not know about their work. This is just to get you started in your exploration of the Asian community.

History

Check out more information regarding Asian American’s race in society through “Model Minority” as well as the history of Asian Americans in America.

Asian Musicians and Entertainment Channels (YouTube)

The recommended channels include Korean artists, Chinese music channels, as well as other individual artist’s music. Check out the page to hear Asian and Asian American music. There is also a page for Asian Hip Hop and Rap.

Asian Dancers and Asian YouTubers

These recommendations don’t all discuss the Asian or Asian American experience. Some are just entertaining while others may touch on deeper topics.

These Korean channels 옥수수콘 - OSSC & Solfa are included because they touch on differences between western and Korean culture.

VICE Asia’s content is very adult and has adult language, I have selected some videos to recommend.

Why did we make this? Well, we've heard from lots of our fans that they want a way to keep up with Asian American news, but there aren't a lot of resources out there. This is our way to help, but also keep it fun.
